One of the best surprises I found after moving to Raleigh from Virginia has been the amazing local beer scene in town. I had no idea there were so many great local breweries and bars when I moved here, and I’ve only grown to love North Carolina craft beer the longer I’ve lived in Raleigh.
It wasn’t all that long ago that I was chugging whatever crappy light beer was in a keg, and while I still enjoy a High Life from time to time my tastes in beer have definitely grown as I have grown. I have even take up homebrewing recently, which I am enjoying immensely. And as I make my way into my 30s drinking beer has nothing to do with getting drunk anymore, and everything to do with enjoying a delicious beverage.
